FAQs
Oslo: What’s the weather like in winter? Scandinavia can be extremely cold during the winter (we’re talking 0°C or 32°F). Heads up! On rare occasions your Trip Manager might be forced to alter the itinerary due to adverse weather conditions.
Oslo: What should I pack for a winter trip in Scandinavia? Pack warm! We suggest bringing a warm waterproof jacket, gloves, thermals, hat, and sunglasses. Plus, a good pair of sturdy shoes for walking across snow or ice.
Oslo: What’s the weather like in summer? Scandinavian weather can be extremely varied. In the shoulder season (May and October) you can expect single-digit temperature and warm sunny days. From June until September, temperatures can reach well above 30° C (86° F).
Oslo: What should I pack for a summer trip in Scandinavia? It’s always a good idea to bring a warm windproof jacket cuz it can get quite cool at night especially outside of the cities.
Oslo: Will I see the Northern Lights? Hopefully! The Northern Lights (AKA the Aurora Borealis) are a natural display of coloured lights in the night sky of the northern hemisphere. They’re a natural phenomenon, so it can never be guaranteed. But you’ll have a higher chance of seeing them the further up north you go & if the sky’s clear. (Fingers crossed...)
Oslo: What currencies will I encounter on this trip? The currencies of the countries we visit on this trip are the Danish Krone (DKK), the Norwegian Krone (NOK), and the Swedish Krone (SEK). Need cash? ATMs are readily available, and most places accept credit/debit cards.
